| The
Chalet
For summer 2010,
we've expanded our accommodation. We want to keep everyone together
so that we all get to eat and have a post-ride beer in the same place.
For that reason, we're keeping on TinTin plus we're also using some
extra space in a great chalet right next door. It's a brand-new conversion
of a beautiful old chalet. We'll be using 2 self-contained sections,
a small studio and a bigger flat, sleeping 8 people in total. This gives
us 16 separate beds spread across 10 rooms over the 2 chalets
Chalet
TinTin provides a mixture of accommodation, sleeping up to 12 people
in total. We have three luxurious double bedrooms; 2
double bedrooms with vanity unit and en-suite shower/WC and one
double bedroom with a large shared bathroom
across the corridor. In addition, we have a quirky mezzanine
level with double bed, a further double
bed on the middle floor (in a curtained-off area by the traditional
bread oven) and bunks
on the lower floor. Let us know what mixture of accomodation your group
needs and we will be happy to advise what will work best for you. Downstairs
we have ample secure storage space for skis and boards and a maintenance/servicing
area complete with ski/board vices and tools for emergency repairs.
On the top floor,
we have a spacious lounge and dining area, complete with Satellite Freeview,
DVD player, PS2, wireless net access and breathtaking views.
The
chalet is located in the upper part of Sainte Foy resort, meaning that
in the winter it is one of only a small number of chalets which are
ski-to-door. In summer, we're directly on the road which leads to all
the best trails and a swift downhill roll to the chairlift base station.
The resort's shops, bars and restaurants are a couple of minutes' walk
away. Click here

The lounge
Chalet TinTin's
lounge is a bit special and is something that still takes our
breath away every time we come up the stairs. The lounge and dining
area are open-plan and fronted by huge panoramic windows with
a completely unbroken view across the valley to Mont Pourri and
the Aiguille Rouge. The lounge has comfy leather sofas, a big
open fire and is kitted out with TV, satellite box, DVD player
(and loads of DVDs), stereo (with IPod dock) and a PS2.

The
en-suite rooms
A l'étage, il y a deux chambres doubles, chacun avec sa salle
de douche, WC et lavabo. |
 |
The
ground-floor double
On
the ground floor, there is a large double bedroom. This is the largest
room in the chalet. It is normally set-up as a spacious double bedroom,
but can also be set-up as a twin room with the addition of a proper
single bed (not a folding or couch bed). This room isn't en-suite,
but the main chalet bathroom plus the extra loo/wash-basin are just
across the hallway. |

The
bread-oven room
NEW
FOR SUMMER 2010 - THE OVEN ROOM GETS A DOOR! In
time for the 09/10 winter season, we'll be constructing a new wall
to make the Oven Room into a proper room with a door and everything.
It'll be pretty cosy but a perfectly comfortable room which can
be set up as either a double or a twin. Guests staying in the oven
room use the main bathroom (down one flight of stairs). |
 |
The
Mezzanine
The
mezzanine area is a wooden platform built in the high roof-space
above the open-plan living/dining area on the top floor. This quirky
area has a low double bed and drawers and hooks for storage.
The sleeping area is completely enclosed by curtains for privacy,
but obviously noise can filter up from the living area if you go
for an early night while other guests are still up and about. Guests
staying in the mezzanine use the main bathroom on the ground floor
(down 3 flights of stairs). |
 |
The
Bunks
The
bunks have been neatly built-in below the stairs on the ground floor.
Each has an individual curtain for privacy, but there is minimal
space to store your stuff and no privacy at all once you're out
of bed! Great for kids whose parents are staying in the ground-floor
double room. Note that the top bunk is a little short (OK for me
at 5'11", but awkward for anyone taller). |
