For one week only this summer the guys from Dirt School are going to be joining our bike guides for a week of the very best in mountain bike coaching. Chris and Andy from Dirt School have both ridden at the highest level in Downhill and in Cross Country. Chris is coach of the Scottish national DH team and coach to former junior world DH champion Ruaridh Cunningham. Andy is both Scottish XC Champion and overall winner of the Scottish XC series. To add to his all-round credentials, Andy was also Scottish junior DH champ back in the day. Andy will be supplying most of the coaching, but Chris is also hoping to take some time out of his hectic World Cup season to join us for a couple of days.

The format for the week will be for two groups of 6 riders to ride with Stevo and the Dirt School guys for the week, with each group getting dedicated coaching on alternate days - with the days in between free to ride sweet singletrack with The White Room's guiding team. Each group will also get a mid-week rest day. The three days of coaching will focus on diiferent aspects of mountain bike technique, themed around:

Day 1: Singletrack skills - body position and movement on the bike, carrying speed through corners, dealing with rock gardens and other trail features.

Day 2: Bike Park Skills - Jumps, drops and banked corners, with the chance to session some North Shore and some DH if you're keen.

Day 3: Steep, tight & gnarly - We'll get onto some of the steepiest, techiest singletrack we can find and look at techniques to get round those "impossible" corners and clean those outrageous roots and rock gardens.

Coaching sessions will take place over a whole range of different trails, from the flowing singletrack of Sainte Foy to the Downhill track and Bike Park of Les Arcs.

So, just to sum it all up, the Dirt School coaching week includes:

• 3 days of dedicated skills coaching with both Dirt School & The White Room - max ratio 1 coach to 3 riders
• 2 days of fully-guided top-quality singletrack riding
• Transfers from Geneva airport on Saturdays
• 7 nights accomodation
• Breakfast and 3 -course dinner on 6 nights of the week
• Packed-lunch (we provide the bread and fillings, you make the sannies!)
• Van uplifts as required
• Transfers from/to Bourg Saint Maurice train/bus station if required
• Unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks
• Afternoon tea & cake
• Bed-linen and towels
• Wireless internet access

This week is aimed at experienced riders who want to go faster or bigger. With two groups, we'll be able to split things up according to ability, but you should be comfortable riding red-grade UK trail-centre trails as a minium.

The slightly higher cost over our standard riding weeks reflects the very low 1:3 coach/guide to client ratio. A single day of coaching at this standard would set you back £85 back in the UK, so to get a full 3 days bundled into an all-inclusive week in the Alps at this price is pretty stunning value.
